BBVA Compass Hires Norawong as Mkt President

BBVA Compass announced the hiring of banking veteran John Norawong as Market President for the Bank’s new loan production office in Seattle. The Bank received approval to the opening of the Seattle loan production office to help expand the Bank’s operations beyond its Sunbelt footprint. The Seattle location adds to the several loan production offices across the United States, including in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville, and North Carolina.

West regional Commercial Banking Manager for BBVA Compass, Andy Wykstra, said the Norawong,John-BBVA-CompassBank is looking forward to have a seasoned banker who has experience in building commercial banking teams to lead the new Seattle office. He added, “Under his direction, our local banking team has already developed niche expertise in providing financial services for our automobile dealer, health care, international and trade finance clients.”

Norawong brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry in California, Washington, and Utah. Most recently, he served as a Regional Manager in the National Banking Organization for Bank of the West in San Francisco. In Washington state, he spent nine years as an executive for several banks and is knowledgeable about the market, including its close ties with China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Norawong obtained his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Brigham Young University.
