Vibra Bank announced that banking veteran Gail Jensen-Bigknife is joining the Bank as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Ms. Bigknife will replace Gary Housman who left Vibra Bank to head a new commercial loan division for another local bank. Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Bigknife was Chief Credit Officer for the Bank of Santa Barbara.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Frank Mercardante said they are very pleased to welcome Ms. Bigknife to the Vibra team. He added that, “She is an excellent and well respected local banker who will help us achieve our future goals.” He said the Bank is saddened with Mr. Housman leaving the Bank since he has been instrumental in the Bank’s past success but they wish him well in his new assignment.
Ms. Bigknife brings with her more than 35 years of experience in the banking industry. Included in her professional career is holding the position of Chief Credit Officer for San Diego-based Security Business Bank from its founding in 2002 until it sold in July 2012 to American West Bank. She is the recipient of numerous personal achievement awards and honors, including the YWCA TWIN Honoree, “Woman of the Year” by the San Diego President’s Council and “Woman of Accomplishment” by Soroptimist International of San Diego.
