Johnson Bank Fills Two Top-Level Executive Positions

Johnson Financial Group announced that it has hired two banking veterans as Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking and a new Chief Credit Officer.

Dan Defnet, a 25-year banking veteran, has been named Executive Vice President of Defnet,Dan-Johnson BankCommercial Banking for Johnson Financial Group and Johnson Bank. Defnet is a resident of Menomonee Falls and he will succeed Kelly Foster who accepted a position as Regional President for Johnson Bank in Arizona. Prior to Johnson Bank, Defnet served as a Senior Commercial Credit Officer at M&I.

Tom Bolger, Johnson Financial Group’s chief executive said, “Dan brings with him the skills and perspective we need to continue to strengthen our lending discipline as we move ahead in growing our business.” The new EVP will oversee the Credit Administration function which includes credit policy, special assets, collections, and appraisal services. He will also head the Senior Loan Committee and act as a liaison with the Board of Directors in issues about loan quality and portfolio risk evaluation.

Also joining the group is Scott Kelly who has been appointed Chief Credit Officer for both Kelly,Scott-Johnson-Bankthe bank and group. Recently, Kelly served as regional president for the bank’s Janesville and Racine branch sites.
