Course Description
This presentation provides useful information to SBA lenders considering lending to convenience store businesses and gasoline resellers. The course explores the core challenges of operating a c-store and funding company operators. It discusses the various risks associated with managing one of the most competitive business sectors.
The discussion teaches lenders about all of the operational challenges that will present issues for management that lenders must recognize and determine their capacity to succeed. There’s information about pricing, competition and customer issues that can determine business success.

- SBA guidelines to be aware of when evaluating convenience stores

- A discussion about the few products that truly involve price competition
- Some best practices to underwriting the proposed convenience store owner when underwriting loans to convenience store loan requests
- Identification of SBA affiliation rules that require a thorough examination of all of the controlling documents of each transaction
- Environmental concerns inherent to convenience stores and other gasoline resellers

Charles Green is an seasoned commercial lender with more than 35 years’ focus on funding the small business sector. He founded and served as President/CEO of Sunrise Bank of Atlanta and has served as a director for several companies.
